Ep 166 - Taproot

This week we continue our pride books with Taproot. Blue is having a hard time moving on. He’s in love with his best friend. He’s also dead. Luckily, Hamal can see ghosts, leaving Blue free to haunt him to his heart’s content. But something eerie is happening in town, leaving the local afterlife unsettled, and when Blue realizes Hamal’s strange ability may be putting him in danger, Blue has to find a way to protect him, even if it means… leaving him.

Next week we finish our pride books with a cross over episode with Cinema Queens.  We are reading Life with Kevin. Kevin Keller returns in this new collection by Dan Parent and J. Bone! Kevin's made his big move to the Big Apple, and Veronica Lodge is not far behind! To succeed in New York, he's going to have to learn how to make time for dating while juggling a high-pressure journalism gig. Will his new life in NYC be a dream come true or will the big city eat him alive? Kevin will learn one thing for sure: when it comes to city living, expect the unexpected!

This week Werewolf barista Julie and her new girlfriend go on a date to a close-up magic show, but all heck breaks loose when the magician casts a horrible spell on their friend Chet. Now it's up to the team of mythical pals to stop the illicit illusionist before it's too late.

The first chapter of the brand new, all-ages magical coffee-laden adventure from Lumberjanes creator GRACE ELLIS and talented newcomer SHAE BEAGLE, it's Moonstruck.

It’s Pride month again, so its time for: Pride 2: Electric Boogaloo

This Week:  At last! Everyone's favorite no-nonsense powerhouse, America Chavez, gets her own series! We finish our pride month with the gay super group - The Pride. Follow the adventures of FabMan, Wolf, Muscle Mary, Frost and the rest of the team as they face off against threats like the Reverend, Poker Face, Basher and more! All this while proving how vital and important the LGBTQ superheroes of the world really are!

Next month we are revisiting some of our favorite books from the past year, and checking out the next chapter in a month we’re calling “Chapter 2”  We start out with Locke and Key Vol 2 - Head Games.

The three Locke children—survivors of a horrific home invasion that claimed their father—have just begun to rebuild their lives when little Bode discovers a key with incredible power. Between the supercomputer wired into his brain and the enhancements saturating his body, the living weapon known as Midnighter doesn’t face a lot of real challenges to his uncanny combat skills. Lucky for him, he enjoys beating the tar out of low-level bad guys as much as the high-end ones—and since his recent breakup with his first love (and fellow superhuman) Apollo, he’s had plenty of chances to engage in his unique brand of physical therapy.  This week we’re reading Midnighter Vol 1 - Out.

Batwoman must stop Alice from unleashing a toxic death cloud over all of Gotham City — but Alice has more up her sleeve than just poison, and Batwoman’s life will never ever be the same again.

We begin our Pride month with Love is Love. A collection from the top names in comics today join forces to raise money for the survivors, and families of those killed at the Pulse nightclub shooting.  

Next week were reading Batwoman Elegy.  Batwoman battles a madwoman known only as Alice, inspired by Alice in Wonderland, who sees her life as a fairy tale and everyone around her as expendable extras!
