Shit gets a little dark this month, we're talking about the death of a child, the aids epidemic, revolution and civil war, and the suicide of a closeted dad. We’re getting personal, as we hold on for a month of autobiographical comics.
This week we are reading Fun Home, Alison Bechdel's story that deals not only with her own coming out as a lesbian, but her closeted father's life of secrets and his eventual suicide. The is also the basis for the Tony Award winning Musical of the same name.
Next month it's all about strong women. We're celebrating a month of women empowerment with Birds of Prey, Lady Killer, Ms. Marvel, and Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love.

This week we are reading Persepolis from Marjane Satrapi. This is her tale growing up in Iran during the Islamic Revolution. Spanning her life in Tehran from ages six to fourteen, she sees the overthrow of the Shah’s regime, the triumph of the Islamic Revolution, and the devastating effects of war with Iraq.

This week is more “Real World” issues, as we read Pedro and Me. Written by Judd Winick from Real World season 3, its the story of Judd’s friendship with fellow housemate Pedro, and Pedro’s fight, and eventual death of AIDS.
Next week we are reading Persepolis. The story of a outspoken young woman growing up in war torn Iran.

Next week we start a month of autobiography. First up is a heart-breaking story of author Tom Heart dealing with the untimely death of his daughter.
